Talking about wats going on lately is a lil bit frustated, at least for me and would be a tough angguk2 or should i called it as those dogs, which always agree to their master.
Now Datuk Sharir (MP of Johor Bharu) is liberated. His resignation as Chairman of Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club has been accepted by Najib. It seems that the man, who confessed that he was open to criticism and often criticised others, could not face rejection. I always remember what he said to Tun Mahathir when Tun expressed its frustration due to cancellation of the bridge project, He says, " Not every people will be agreed to your opinion/thoughts. If you say it out loud the thoughts, you must be prepared to the consequences, some might be agree, and some might critize you down". And now can we see, is it Shahrir or Tun that doesn't prepare to face others turn around?
Still I salute him for resigning. It's a noble act. Any leader who ceases to enjoy the support and confidence of his peers should bow out. It should be amply clear to Shahrir that his BN peers are not quite ready for transparency and for a higher level of integrity.
Although the MPs gave the impression that they opposed him because he supported a DAP motion, I think these MPs were afraid of that if the motion was adopted, all of them could in future be referred to the Privilege Committee if wrongdoing was suspected.
Shahrir told the Press that Najib had told him that he should punish himself for going against the party and that he (Shahrir) should stay resigned.
Well, now he does not have to babysit those troublesome MPs anymore, maybe he can spend more time speaking up his mind. It's nice to hear an MP who dares to sing a different tune and dance to different music.
This is freedom.
