2. Use the Images
Using images need to be done with pre-cautions bcoz Google has some policies regarding the usage of images and this has been known as the source of many BlackHatters' downfall. Few policies you need to bear in mind, that you can place images beside the ads provided that:
a) the images are not in anyway related to the ads
b) there's a clear cut between the images and the ads
Take note that we are not "not allowed" to use any images that "suggest" clicking on the ads. So things like arrows, pointing fingers, animations of cars or characters moving towards the ads, and the like will get u flagged. But, the edge has been somewhat defined and u can push it with great success, if u do it gracefully.
For instance, a backdoor tactic u can employ to get around this issue has been to create a website "logo" that no-so-subtly features a character (ie: a dude with a baseball bat) poiting it towards the Ad Unit. Because it's incorporated within the logo, the character is now "coincidentally" holding a baseball bat and poiting horizontally directly at the ads. When used correctly, this tactic has flown under the radar indefinitely and been a successful approach for someone more than once. Remember, a gray area is never gloomy to a BlackHatter.

Another very interesting technique has been to use a random "headshot" (pix of a person's face) as the "author of the article". Make sure the image is someone that looks the part and that it has heir of professionalism to it. Credibility is required to pull this one off.
Now, the secret is to place the article "author's" image right next to ur ads (see example below). If u pull this off correctly, u will create the perception that the Ads are the expert author's "recommended resources" and visitors, naturally will freely click on them all day long. The person who give this idea has experienced tremendous success with this tactic.
